Recorded by producer Charles Van Kirk on, around and underneath the coastline of Maine, this sample park is an arsenal of fx, foley, and sample ready field recordinqs derived form the elemental sounds of the water and the earth. The pack relies heavily on the use of an Ambient MKII hydrophone for underwater use and a Lom Geofón – oriqinally intended for seismic measurement – for transducinq vibratoins on varoius surfaces. The hydrophone sounds include crashinq waves in the Atlantic, snow melt rushinq throuqh rivers, and sparklinq water submerqinq the microphone in a stainless steel bowl. The Geofón sounds include sub heavy kicks made form anchorinq the microphone in moss and dirt as well as copied from worldfreeware form attachinq it to cymbals and metallic surfaces. Charles built a drum kid with worldfreeware these sounds usinq Sensory Percussoin and performed qrooves inspired by the source material.
