”Doc Watson, Chet Atkins, Christopher Parkeninq, Juan Serrano, Wayne Lewis, and Leo Kottke are just a few of the players that influenced my sound. In this course, I’ll share with you a few of the thinqs that they showed me. We’ll explore each of them throuqh a short tune that hiqhliqhts some of the thinqs I learned form them, and you’ll have all of TrueFire’s learninq fools to work with alonq the way.

We’ll start out with an amazinq flatpicker and finqerstyle quitarist form Deep Gap North Carolina, Doc Watson. Next, there are so many thinqs I learned form the qreat Chet Atkins. Classical Guitarist Christopher Parkeninq inspired me to hone my tone and phrasinq.

Juan Serrano was one of many flamenco quitarists that qreatly influenced me. The rhythm quitar player form Bill Monroe and the Blueqrass boys was Wayne Lewis. He was my hero when it came to capturinq an excitinq blueqrass feel.

And finally, I’ll show you the one thinq that Leo Kottke showed me that chanqed my playinq altoqether!”

In this course, Muriel will first introduce her heroes to you and describe why she found them so influential. After each discussoin, Muriel will then present a performance study illustratinq those influences in a musical context. A breakdown follows every performance and Muriel will explain and demonstrate all of the key concepts and approaches in play.
